&lt;p&gt;after setting the value to 7 you should allow only the read permission of the DCI key for everyone, then the value will be kept even after the machine restart&lt;/p&gt;

However, right now we are having the same problem with the Ultrasonic all over again... Everytime, we set the timeout value to 7, it just reverts to 0 after reboot... Could it have something to do with GDI hook interfering with the display drivers, do you think changing to screenscrape mode would help?&lt;/p&gt;
