Microsoft Frontier Tour Cologne: From AI Experiments to Skilled Agents

What a day in Cologne! The Microsoft Frontier Tour brought together developers, architects and decision-makers who want to move AI out of the pilot phase and into real business processes. The energy in the room was great.

One thing was clear all day: the conversation has moved on. Nobody asks anymore whether agents work. Teams now ask how to build agents that are reliable, secure, maintainable and good at specific tasks.

My session: Building Skilled Agents with Microsoft Agent Framework in C#/.NET

  • What "skills" are, and why packaging know-how into reusable skills makes an agent better than a bigger prompt does
  • How to combine skills and tools
  • Lessons from projects we've built at daenet for German Mittelstand customers: what works in production and what doesn't

Thank you to Microsoft for the great organization, and thanks to everyone who joined the session and stopped by the labs. If you'd like to continue the conversation about your agent scenarios, send me a message.
