The more or less well known code name of Windows VISTA design is AERO. This design provides a completely new user experience. That is what many people feel at the first look on Windows VISTA. However there is a strength strategy and clear vision behind AERO design and just good looking applications. The main idea behind new design is to offer the graphic platform for applications which are more intuitive and very easy to use. This means that the graphic design will become a constitutive part of the development process of an application.
Because of this I collected the main key characteristics of AERO design, which every developer should be aware:
- Glitch-free rendering
- Great graphics
- High DPI resolution
- Rich 3-D
- Animations
- Transitions
- Fades.
