In the last months I was often confused about the version of Visual Studio I have currently opened. Because I use VSTS2005 and VSTS2008 and mostly have 5-10 instances opened, it is not so difficult to get wired by switching between VS-instances. Sometimes I need something in VS2005 and sometimes in VS2008.
By Murphy's low, as you probable expected I always open the wrong one. The problem is that both versions are very similar and it is difficult differentiate between them. Here is one recommendation and hope somebody out there has a better one :)
Move the mouse over the file menu item and you will notice one of following two effect:
As you see both are very similar, but the left one has a slightly rounded edges and very thin white frame. The left one is VSTS2008 and the right one VSTS2005.
